Impact Assessment of Financial Literacy Training Program (Sakhi 5.0)
An impact assessment conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the Financial Literacy Training Program (Sakhi 5.0) implemented by SCORE Livelihood Foundation to improve financial knowledge, attitudes, and practices among women and adolescent girls from rural and semi-urban communities. The assessment examined behavioral change, financial awareness, savings habits, investment understanding, and livelihood readiness among beneficiaries across multiple states in India.

Objective
To understand the effectiveness of the Financial Literacy Training Program (Sakhi 5.0) and assess the financial knowledge, attitudes, and practices of beneficiaries after receiving training. The assessment focused on evaluating behavioral changes in savings, investments, financial planning, digital payments, and awareness of government financial schemes among women and adolescent girls.

Key Outcomes
- The assessment covered 18,000 women and adolescent girls across Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and West Bengal, focusing on improving financial literacy and strengthening economic participation among women.
- 100% of beneficiaries understood the importance of savings, and nearly all respondents reported maintaining savings accounts after the training. Awareness regarding financial planning, digital transactions, and government financial schemes improved significantly.
- More than 90% of beneficiaries closely monitored their financial affairs, demonstrated responsible spending behavior, and showed improved financial decision-making practices after participating in the training.

- The training contributed to behavioral change and women’s empowerment, with many participants reporting increased confidence in financial planning, budgeting, savings, and family-level financial decision-making. Women also reported improved employability skills and reduced financial dependency.
- The assessment identified opportunities to strengthen the program through improved follow-up mechanisms, expanded training duration, outdoor awareness models, written feedback systems, and integration of financial technology concepts (FinTech) into training modules.
